Two Angles are Supplementary if they add up to 180 degrees.

They don't have to be together to be supplementary, just so long as the total is 180 degrees.

Here in the following diagram you can see ιA and ιB are supplemtary angles ,because

ιA+ιB=140°+40°

= 180°

180° means a straight angle.











So ,ιA and ιB are supplementary angles .

Example 2

Here these two angles also supplementary


ιA+ιB=120°+60°

= 180°
