A number can have a power on it. It signifies that the number must be multiplied equal to the number of times of the power. The power can be any number like 1, 2, 3, and so on. The number can also be negative. When the number is 1, it is called the number is to the power of 1. When the number is 2, it is said that the number is squared. When the number is 3, it is said that the number is cubed. When the number is squared it is multiplied by itself two times. When the number is cubed it is multiplied by itself three times.
